Halls of residence

We have a number of halls of residence for undergraduate and postgraduate students. A hall of residence offers a stable framework where you can make friends, and can be ideal for adjusting to living away from home for the first time. Fees include all the costs of heating and lighting, so budgeting becomes relatively simple.

We try to make sure each hall has a good mix of students from different degrees, and at various stages of study, so you can make friends from across the academic community. Each hall has a team of staff, including Resident Assistants, responsible for student welfare and discipline, and administration.

Electronic Safes

Study Bedrooms at your Goldsmiths halls of residence can be equipped with 'private electronic safes' for the protection of laptops and other
valuables. If you would like to hire and use a safe in your room during your stay please visit www.mystudentsafe.com to register and pay for its activation. Select "Goldsmiths University of London" from the drop down menu and follow the online instructions.

Home Stay and Short Stay                                                                                                                                                                           If you are looking for a more supported, family environment, we work closely with Hosts International (www.hosts-international.com) to provide accommodation with local families. Although open to all, this option is particularly popular with our non-UK students as it gives an excellent opportunity to experience British family life. These stays mostly include breakfast and an evening meal and are available from £150 per week for a single room. With this option there is no designated contract length so you can stay for as little as 2 weeks which is also useful if you are waiting for a halls place to become available or simply visiting the area before you commence your studies.

Host international also offer a number of self catering rooms in shared houses, close to Goldsmiths and bookable on a weekly basis. For further information please visit the website above.
