The Feminist/Cultural Politics of Creaturely Life
Conference: Media Research Building, Screen 1, Goldsmiths, University of London, Fri, 27 Feb 2009 13:00:00 GMT
This afternoon conference extends the well-established interest at
Goldsmiths across several departments on the politics of ´becoming
animal` (Deleuze) and on the interface of human and post-human
relations (Haraway). It brings together a wide range of feminist
scholars as well as experts in animal studies and in post-colonial
cultural studies, with the
aim of consolidating these debates to incorporate artists and also
animal-practitioners, as well as social scientists. The keynote lecture
'Noble Brutes' will be delivered by Prof Donna landry (Kent).
The event will be of interest to staff, MA and PhD students.
Free, but limited number of seats available, so booking is essential.
