  • The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) offer 3-year doctoral awards, via the College. Visual Anthropology students (and Anthropology students who fit the guidelines) may be considered by the Department to be put forward to the College selection committee. It is essential that students wishing to be considered inform the Postgraduate Convenor by late December, in order to allow sufficient time to prepare a good application and contact referees before the deadlines which will be posted on the News & Events page each year.   • Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) 1+3 and 3: Goldsmiths Department of Anthropology is a recognised outlet for ESRC studentships. Students may be considered for the competition awards, whereby a limited number of candidates are selected by the Department for submission to the College selection Committee. ESRC application forms are usually available on the Council's website (http://www.esrc.ac.uk) in late February.   • Emslie Horniman Anthropological Scholarship Fund: British, Irish and Commonwealth nationals are eligible to apply for support for overseas fieldwork. Details are available from the Royal Anthropological Institute and the closing date is 31 of March each year.   • Ford Foundation International Fellowships - for people from particular countries currently including: Brazil, Chile, China, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Mozambique, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Senegal,South Africa, Vietnam, Central America, the Middle East and North Africa. It is mainly for people who would otherwise lack opportunities for advanced study, including women, people from particular ethnic, racial or religious groups and those who live outside capital cities or in countries of conflict or post-conflict situations.   • Goldsmiths College Bursaries and studentships. Goldsmiths offers a number of bursaries and studentships (including the international postgraduate scholarship, the Goldsmiths Humanitarian scholarship and the Goldsmiths Postgraduate Scholarship scheme.)   • Radcliffe-Brown Memorial Fund: small grants (around £500) are available for students completing their theses, awarded twice a year. Details are advertised in Anthropology Today.
