A high-caste wedding would include a large number of guests, as well as many on-lookers. The groom’s party (bharat) would come in noisy procession with Damai (low-caste) musicians, with the groom riding on a horse. The wedding ceremony, conducted by a Brahmin priests, would be followed by a feast.
