"Calculated risks": new perspectives on gambling

A free two-day international conference which explored new directions in gambling research, supported by the Economic and Social Research Council and Responsibility in Gambling Trust.

The conference welcomed postgraduate students and researchers from all over the world to present their work and generate debate. The conference invited researchers to broaden the frontiers of gambling research and to discuss the use of new approaches and methods. The purpose of the conference was to share data, to establish appropriate methods for researching gambling in diverse settings, and to engage critically and creatively with what gambling is about and how it should be studied.
