As part the national Big Draw campaign, families from the local area and further afield were invited to take part in a dazzling array of drawing and storytelling activities led by PGCE Art & Design and PGCE English students.

This year’s event – ‘Explore The Big Draw’ – encouraged children to explore a treasure island, helping 'shipwrecked' PGCE students make rafts and build shelters. Other activities included mapping their journey around the hall with poetry and stories – getting their passport stamped as they went – and helping to create an exciting new civilisation out of cardboard boxes.

One parent said: "It was amazing - my little one loved it, thank you so much! The hall was incredible - like going into another world. There are a lot of very talented students at Goldsmiths"

Peter Austin, Press and PR Manager, said: "We’re delighted at how this year’s Big Draw went – the PGCE students worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the event to prepare the activities, and on the day they were magnificent with the children.

"It’s heartening to see so many familiar faces in attendance – five years ago we set out to make the Big Draw at Goldsmiths a regular fixture in the diaries of local families, and it seems we have managed to do that."
