Introductory event into the technique and beauty of Chinese Sword Dance
Often seen on Chinese Film and Theatre, Chinese Sword Dance is a core discipline in Traditional Chinese Classical Dance Training. This Fun and Dramatic activity combines Martial Arts Fencing with Exercise, Dance and Drama to create a unique course and interesting discovery into Chinese performing arts.
Over 5 classes, students will learn the principles of Chinese Sword Dance using Chinese Classical Dance and Martial Arts techniques. Classes taught by Goldsmiths Confucius Institute teachers.
Each class is 1 hour 30 mins and split into Classical Dance and Martial Arts practice. Training prop swords will be provided. The last session on Wednesday 12th October 2016, will be a special Masterclass by renowned Sword Dance Professor from Beijing Dance Academy, ZHANG Jun. Jun will be coming from China and will deliver his Masterclass and Talk to participating students.
After completing all 5 sessions, students will be awarded a certificate in Beginners Sword Dance and also receive 15% discount to future Short Courses with Goldsmiths Confucius Institute.
This is an introductory course and is open to all.

Price:
£30 for all 5 sessions (incl. masterclass with Zhang Jun)
£15 for 12th Oct Masterclass only.
