Event overview
Bafta nominated artists and filmmakers return after 20 years to discuss their recent collaboration with Nick Cave, ‘20,000 Day on Earth’, and how Goldsmiths shaped their practice.
Graduates of Goldsmiths, Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard have worked collaboratively for the past two decades in the production of live art and installation projects, music videos and feature films. Their recent film 20,000 Days on Earth, featuring writer and musician Nick Cave, was released in 2014 to critical acclaim, and is now nominated for best documentary at the forthcoming BAFTAs.
Please join us for an in-conversation with the artists, chaired by Professor Gavin Butt, Head of the Department of Visual Cultures and one of Iain and Jane’s former Goldsmiths tutors.
The conversation will explore the impact of studying at Goldsmiths on their work as multi-disciplinary artists, and will address how contemporary creative practitioners move between different industries and audiences, from the art world to the music and film industries.
