A guest lecture by Professor Roberto Esposito
Roberto Esposito is Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the Scuole Normal Superiore in Pisa, Italy. His many books include the celebrated trilogy, Communitas, Immunitas and Bios. His thought features the notion of munis, which is also the gift, and whose other side is immunity, all of which structures and de-structures both political and biological forms of life. His thought traverses community, the commons and the connection between humans and things, sciences and the arts. Journals from Diacritics to Angelaki and now Theory, Culture & Society have featured his work. He is a political philosopher who is first and foremost a philosopher of biopolitics.
