Event overview
Worried about the IP Bill and its impact on journalists, activists and lawyers?
Know you should be able to use encryption but not found the time to set it up and familiarise yourself with it?
Come to Goldsmiths University on Sat 7th May to hear those involved in the fight against the extension of unwarranted powers with both targeted and bulk surveillance. Bring your laptop and benefit from expert hands-on help in the afternoon to get you set up and comfortable using encryption by the end of the day.
This event will blend panel sessions with hands-on practical training in encryption skills.
The morning panels will bring together some of those leading the fight against the over-reach of government surveillance in the UK, and address the impacts of these powers on journalists, activists and lawyers.
The afternoon will be devoted to providing practical help, advice and troubleshooting for participants in securing both their communications and their data.
Please note that if you wish to participate in the hands-on training you will need to bring your own laptop.
