Event overview
For the second in our Queens of Tech speaker series, Vinoba Vinayagamoorthy talks about her work on 'connected TV'.
Vinoba works in the mobile and connected homes theme within the Broadcast & Connected Systems team in R&D. She is interested in research concerning user experiences which involve using devices around the home in conjunction with a connected television. Recently, she has been focusing on ways of combining content on social networks with programmes being played on a connected TV.
Prior to that, she worked on generating 3D content for autostereoscopic devices as part of the 3D4YOU project and generating background textures as part of the iView project.
Before joining BBC R&D, she worked as a research fellow in virtual environments and computer graphics at University College London (UCL) specialising on building virtual characters. She has a PhD from UCL in Computer Science and a BEng in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Surrey.
