We all need your help please.
Goldsmiths has now signed up to the 2011 / 12 NUS Green Impact scheme.
Green Impact is an environmental accreditation scheme with an awards element designed for university departments. University staff take part each academic year and depending on the number of environmental actions they carry out, can achieve either: a working towards accreditation or Bronze, Silver or Gold award for making their workplaces greener.
Green Impact empowers individuals and departments to reduce their environmental impact by encouraging, rewarding and celebrating practical environmental improvements. Green Impact challenges departments to implement a number of easy practical actions that will help the environment.
So, what we need are some more Carbon Champions in various departments and buildings to act as the focal point for this exciting programme.
If you would like to help us, to help everyone, please send a quick email to green@gold.ac.uk, including your name, department and room / building.

Our aim for the network is that it will act as a channel of communication and suggestions for energy-saving ideas on campus, and that each Champion will act as a model of environmental best practice for their area. Champions are spread across all areas of the institution. We are always looking for more people to volunteer to be a Carbon Champion for their area, be it a department, smaller team or the area where you work. If you are interested, please e-mail Richard Groves, Energy and Environmental Manager.
Carbon Champions have dedicated pages on Learn.gold, Goldsmiths' Virtual Learning Environment. This resource is available to Goldsmiths employees and students but you can always e-mail green@gold.ac.uk if you’d like to find out more.
Representatives from the Carbon Champions network sit on the Environmental and Sustainability sub-committee. All Carbon Champions are invited to attend the summer term sub-committee.
