Description of our events
CVs & application forms
This session will explore the concept of a CV: what to include, what to leave out, how your CV should look and - most importantly - how to market yourself effectively using your CV. We will look at the do's and don'ts of filling in application forms and will pay particular attention to answering competency-based questions. It will be an interactive session with the opportunity to create your own effective CV. Some sessions are general, some for more specific groups such as creatives or social scientists.
Employer forums
Hear about roles, routes in and the realities of working in particular sectors from people doing the job. Our employer forums focus on common areas of interest to Goldsmiths' students such as arts and culture, public and not for profit sectors. These sessions have 3-4 speakers sharing their experiences, with time for informal Q&A. This term we have
- Working with Words: Perhaps you enjoy writing, reading or books and you would love a career related to this. This session will introduce you people who either write or produce written literature in some way.
- Jobs in Museums and Galleries: Fancy working in the culture sector? There are a lot of different roles to aim for. Hear from speakers with a number of years experience. Details to follow.
- Working with Think Tanks: Perhaps you are interested in a job in the political, social, economic arena? This networking forum will give you the chance to meet people who are making a difference and get advice on how to enter the sector.
- NGOs event – Getting into International Development and Charities: This networking forum will give you the chance to meet people who are making a difference and get advice on how to enter the sector.
Effective interviews
