The Multilingual Europe seminar series was hosted by Goldsmiths Department of Educational Studies and funded by the ESRC. The series brought together researchers, practitioners and policymakers from Britain and other European countries for a series of six seminars from 2003-05. Themes were: Multilingual and Multicultural Identities; Virtual Europe – New Media and Intercultural Exchange; Language Learning in Policy and Practice, Home, School and Community; Educational Achievement; and Multilingual Cities. The programme culminated in a dissemination conference. The contents of the seminar series is available in the book Multilingual Europe: Diversity and Learning, edited by Charmian Kenner and Tina Hickey and published by Trentham Books.
