Mark Bishop elected chair of AISB

Dr Mark Bishop has been elected chair of the the AISB (Society for Artificial Intelligence and the Simulation of Behaviour). The AISB is the major academic society in the UK for the discipline of Artificial Intelligence and the oldest such society in the world. Founded in 1964, the society has an international membership drawn from both academia and industry, and from a wide range of disciplines, such as Philosophy and Psychology, as well as Computing. Mark is the second AISB chair from Goldsmiths, the first being Geraint Wiggins, demonstrating the strong interest and high standing that the department has in this field.
Mark has also been elected to the Turing Centenary Advisory Committee to help co-ordinate activities for the centenary of Alan Turing's birth in 2012.
