Lanfranco Aceti: Stretched: 2.0 artists, scientists and curators
Thursday Club: Goldsmiths Digital Studios, Thu, 04 Mar 2010 14:00:00 GMTThe lecture, starting from an artwork - the Leonardo series of Chuck Csuri, a pioneer of digital arts - will focus on the multiple roles that artists, scientists and curators cover in order to deliver transdisciplinary events at the intersection of art, science and technology.
Lanfranco Aceti will discuss the influence of contemporary technology on the creative and scientific practice and highlight the functionalities and disfunctionalities of interdisciplinary collaborative research across multiple cultural contexts and disciplines.
Dr Aceti works as an academic, artist and curator. He
is Associate Professor in Contemporary Art and Digital Culture at the Faculty
of Arts and Social Sciences, Sabanci University, Istanbul. He has been exhibited
internationally and written for Leonardo and Art Inquiry and his
interdisciplinary research focuses on the intersection between digital arts,
visual culture and new media technologies.

Editor in Chief of the peer reviewed journal Leonardo Electronic Almanac (LEA)
part of the Leonardo Journal and of the MIT Press.

Artistic Director and Conference Chair for ISEA2011
Istanbul. ISEA2011 Istanbul will coincide with the Istanbul Biennale, and

and contemporary artists and scientists can exhibit and showcase their
