Full time researcher on the ESPRC funded project "Modelling Music Memory and the Perception of Melodic Similarity" (EPSRC grant:EP/D0388551).

Research interests

Music Cognition, Melodic Similarity, Memory Research, Empirical Musicology, Pop Music Analysis, Music Psychology, Music Industry, Music Copyright, Spanish Music, Music Media Studies

Current research

Apart from all aspects concerning the perception and cognition of melodies and music memory as part of the M4S project, my recent research included writing the biographies of 15 Spanish composers for the Reclam Encyclopedia of Composers, a large-scale survey on the perception of TV music talent shows, research on the development of music websites on the internet, and an overview on new statistical approaches in recent music psychology.
