Information for staff
Welcome to Conference Services, we are part of Residences, Catering and Conference Services (RCCS). Our main role within RCCS is firstly, to generate income from external bookings in order to offset the cost to the College of maintaining student accommodation. Secondly to support staff wishing to organise events within the College, providing a single point of contact for all events that involve external people entering the College (whether that event be organised by an internal or external person).
There are of course exceptions to the latter. Events such as the College open days and the Arts Festival form an annual part of the College’s calendar and dates are publicised way in advance and circulated first to the Conference Office and College Services for information. However, the Conference Office should be the first point of call for the organiser of any activity to which persons who are not members of the College are to be invited.
Once you have contacted the Conference Office, our involvement may stop there. However, by taking a note of your event we can at least avoid diary clashes, inform you of health & safety requirements and keep a database of contact details should we receive enquiries relating to your event. We can also inform the College Superintendent of your event, in advance of you providing more detailed information with which to brief security and the porters.
