Research Interests
Ania Dabrowska is a photographer, who has had numerous solo, and group exhibitions in UK, including the Exposure 2003 Hereford Photography Festival 2003, and the prestigious Observer Hodge Award Exhibition at the Newsroom Gallery. In 2003 she won the prestigious Observer Hodge Photographic Award for a documentary story from South Africa called “Freedom” is a Big Word. Her work has been published in the Observer Magazine, Harpers & Queen, Dazed & Confused, Index on Censorship, and Frieze. She was a photo-columnist for a Polish art publication Szafa, and worked in a legendary agency Magnum Photos. Ania has also developed and run numerous workshops for children and young people in Cyprus and London in collaboration with charities, NGOs, and the British Council. Between 2003 - 2005 she collaborated with an East End of London charity U-Turn Project working with women involved in prostitution. Her current project focuses on contemporary migrants in London; the stories of leaving and finding of Home.
