Rebecca Locke
Rebecca Locke is a visual artist and co-founder of NYCsalt a photography programme in New York. Born in the UK, she spent her formative years in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where she worked in the creative industries, made photographic and performance-based artworks, composed music and performed as a singer in Sufjan Stevens’ band. Current projects explore themes of image and value, the power of fashion, the myth of ‘self’ and ‘place’. Rebecca graduated from the MA Photography and Urban Cultures program at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2008. She initiated the Urban Encounters workshop symposium ‘City to Sea,’ to be held this summer in her hometown Bognor Regis.
