Are there any local cycling groups?

The LCC is the London Cycling Campaign and works to make London better for cycling. Their site is a mine of useful information. Benefits of membership of LCC include

• Discounts in selected bike shops 
• Free bi-monthly magazine 
• Free cycle-friendly legal advice 

The two local LCC (local branches of the LCC supported by the central office ) are Lewisham Cyclists and Greenwich Cyclists. The contact details for these groups will be on the LCC website. Greenwich have a very good website http://www.greenwichcyclists.org.uk/
The CTC also has many cycling clubs that arrange leisure rides to suit a range of abilities. http://www.ctc.org.uk/ There are also several local cycling clubs which take part in competitive cycling. Look at http://www.sportslinks.info/cycling.htm for club listings.
