FAQs

How do I keep my bike road worthy?

If you use you bike regularly you will need to have it serviced about once a year. The bike shop will give your bike a basic check. A yearly service is important to keep your bike road worthy. Keep an eye on the brake blocks which you can replace yourself. Don't let them wear right down before replacing them as you run the risk of damaging your wheel rim - more expensive to replace than a new brake block. The chain should kept oiled especially in bad weather but rub off the excess oil as excess oil attracts dirt which accelerates wear.  GT85 (available in bike shops) is a good light oil which can be applied regularly. Keep your tyres pumped up to the right pressure. If you chain falls off regularly it usually means that either your gears are badly adjusted or your chain has worn. If your chain is worn to this degree go and get it sorted. Maintenance Guide
