Shu-Yi Chiu

PhD Candidate in Design

Shu-Yi is currently conducting her doctoral thesis funded by the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation and supervised by Professor Kay Stables. Her research is concerned with the policy delivery of the Creative Education in Taiwan and associated perceptions of creative education for primary school teachers and students to successfully stimulate creativity performances in classroom. To undertake this investigation, Shu-Yi has investigated creative education in the UK and is developing a number of pilot research instruments for her fieldwork to create a range of case studies of schools in Taipei City.

Shu-Yi is also a part time writer in the nationwide newspaper, magazine and official sector. She has also worked with Taiwanese scholars to explore the field of her research. Before getting an MA Education from the Department of Industrial Education at the National Taiwan Normal University, Shu-Yi took a BA in the Department of Interior Design at Chung Yuan University.
