Jim Wood

Jim Wood is pursuing research in developing tools and methods for digital artifacts, which is very much influenced by his interests in experimental art, digital media and craft making.
After studying Fine Art, he completed an MA in Digital Art at Centre for Electronic Arts Middlesex University in 1998 and then developed artistic projects in sound and interactive media, such as the 'concrt_Wagon' which was commissioned by W&LI, Manchester, and toured to Hull, Nottingham and London between 1999 and 2000.
He began working in education first at Southwark College, and then at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, between 2001 and 2007. There as Technical Tutor he developed the experimental platform of the MA Interactive Digital Media (MAIDM) program, <XR> Lab, lectured in reactive media, and tutored MA students projects. Many projects from MAIDM were exhibited in the UK and internationally.
He has worked freelance as a tutor of workshops on interactive
prototyping, physical computing, and as a developer of systems and
software for artists projects and design research.
He has recently joined the University of Bedfordshire as Lecturer in Creative Technology.
Previous artistic incarnations include bands Human Torches, Moh, tralala.
