Jila worked for six years as an engineer in research and development in the electronics industry. She then studied micro-processing and product design before joining Goldsmiths. Jila's research has involved writing a user friendly electronics book, ' Novice Electronics', about teaching electronics in both primary and secondary schools as well as the development and documentation of specific hardware and software, which is particularly aimed at the timid first time user. Currently Jila teaches electronics on all undergraduate and PGCE programmes.
