Dyslexia Tutorials

Those who obtain entitlement and funding for one-to-one dyslexia support at Goldsmiths will be assigned a qualified dyslexia tutor. You will meet the tutor for one hour sessions on a fortnightly basis. These sessions will be arranged at a regular time and place on the college campus.

Dyslexia tutors can support students in the following areas:

  1. Reading
  2. Note-taking
  3. Planning and structuring written assignments,
  4. Revision
  5. Exam technique
  6. Time-management

At the first tutorial the student's specific areas of difficulty relating to his or her study will be identified and possible solutions will begin to be discussed.

In subsequent tutorials, techniques and personal coping strategies best suited to your individual needs and learning style will be developed and, with the tutor's support, these will be applied to current study assignments. Students will be expected to practice these new approaches outside of the sessions with a view to studying more confidently and effectively on their own.

If you have dyslexia and would like to be assigned a dyslexia tutor, please contact the disability team.
