Bursaries and Scholarships

For new students

(Please note that postgraduate research students are initially registered for the MPhil degree and normally apply within about two years to upgrade their registration to the PhD degree)  

  • One full fee waiver for a full-time MPhil/PhD student, renewable annually (subject to satisfactory progress), for a period of up to 3 years (starting Sept 2012)
  • One full fee waiver for a full-time MPhil/PhD student (for academic session 2012-13)
  • One partial fee waiver for either a part-time or full-time MPhil/PhD student (for academic session 2012-13)
  • One full fee waiver or two partial fee waivers for the MA in Comparative Literary Studies programme (for academic session 2012-13)*

 

*Whether the MA bursary will be divided into two half fee waivers, and whether it will be awarded to new or current students will be determined by the relative quality of the applications

Overseas students as well as home/EU students may apply for the fee waivers above, although the value of each award will be equal to the fees applied to a home/EU student.  Applications, consisting of a brief letter, a Curriculum Vitae and the names and contact details of two academic referees should be sent to Maria Macdonald, Postgraduate Secretary, Department of English & Comparative Literature, Goldsmiths, University of London, New Cross, London SE14 6NW (telephone 020 7919 7436).  The deadline for receipt of applications is 21 May 2012.  Applicants must also be applying for entry to the MA or MPhil/PhD programme on the College's online application system

 For current students
