Una Coyne
Una joined the Department of Educational Studies at Goldsmiths on a part time basis in 2006 and became a full time lecturer the following year. She currently teaches on both the Primary PGCE and BA Education, Culture and Society courses. On the Primary PGCE she lectures in Primary Mathematics , Curriculum Studies ‘Diversity: Special Educational Needs’ and co-ordinates the Primary General Professional Studies course. She is also responsible for School Experience placements and is the Admissions Tutor. Una is a moderator for primary School Experience.
In addition, Una lectures on the Education, Culture and Society BA(Hons) programme. She teaches the Year 1 course entitled ‘The Curriculum: Historical and Philosophical Perspectives’ and the Year 3 option ‘Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Special Educational Needs’. Una is the Year 3 year leader.
Prior to this, Una spent over 25 years as a teacher in the London Boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Southwark working in primary and special schools including 7 years as a Headteacher in the London Borough of Lewisham. During this time Una held posts of responsibility for Religious Education, Mathematics, Information Communication Technology and curriculum management at the time of the introduction of the National Curriculum. Una has also worked as an assessment consultant.
