Dr Claudine Kirsch BA(Ed) MA PhD
Dr Claudine Kirsch is a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London. She works on the BA, PGCE Primary, Masters and MPhil/PhD programmes in the Educational Studies Department.
Claudine graduated as a primary school teacher in Luxembourg where she taught for nine years. During this time she participated in national and international research projects on the development of children’s language experiences and linguistic competences. Subsequently, she worked as a research fellow at the University of Luxembourg where she examined collaborative learning in an ICT setting as one of a team. She was appointed course leader for PGCE Primary Modern Languages in September 2003. She co-ordinates the module Multilingual Pedagogies on the Masters programme Culture, Language and Identity as well as two courses on the BA programme.
Research interests
Claudine's research interests include foreign language learning and teaching, language learning strategies and bilingual first language acquisition. Her most recent publications focus on bilingual first language acquisition, language learning strategies, and vocabulary learning through storytelling in primary foreign language lessons.
