Studio 5

Studio 5 (in Room 155) is a live recording space (approx. 520 square feet), also bookable as a listening & teaching area. The workstation in this room is available for use by undergraduate and postgraduate students taking studio-based modules on either the BMus (Hons) Music, BMus (Hons) Popular Music, BMus/BSc (Hons) Music Computing or MMus Composition (Studio) courses.
This studio may be also used by any enrolled music student, subject to availability and approval, for course-related work.
This room houses a new (summer 2010) Yamaha DS4 PRO Disklavier grand piano, which has MIDI record/playback capability, either internally or remotely via MIDI tie-lines to a computer.
The workstation in Studio 5 comprises :
- Apple iMac 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo 2, with 3Gb RAM, 20" screen, Mac OS 10.4 "Tiger"
- Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200rpm drive in WiebeTech Firewire 400 enclosure
- Digidesign MBox 2 Pro audio/MIDI interface, with analog & digital in/out
- Allen & Heath MixWizard WZ3 14:4:2 mixing desk
- CME UF60 master keyboard, with MIDI controller faders
- Alesis Midiverb 4 effects processor - with MIDI programme change
- ADAM ANF10 2-way passive nearfield studio monitors
- Samson Servo-120a stereo power amplifier, 60 watts per channel
- Behringer PX2000 Ultrapatch Pro patchbay, with analog & digital in/out
