Equality and Diversity Committee
- The Equality and Diversity Committee (E&DC) meets three times per year and reports to Academic Board and Council.
- There is an Independent Chair and Committee members are taken from a range of academic and support staff; Heads of Department; Equal Opportunities Facilitators;Trade Union representatives and Students’ Union Officers. Further details are held on the College’s Committee System site.
- The Equal Opportunities Advisor is Committee Secretary, whilst the Equality and Diversity Administrator provides back-up support on servicing the Committee.
- A large range of topics is covered, which include:
- Reports, monitoring information and policies produced by the Equal Opportunities Advisor and other departments;
- Issues raised through regular consultation of staff and students, including the Diversity Champions and other diversity networks;
- The latest equality and diversity legislation and recommendations for Higher Education establishments.
