Entry requirements for students from France

Undergraduate degrees
BA/BSc/BMus

Baccalaureat
Goldsmiths standard offer is an overall mark of approximately 14-15 (different subjects will set their own entrance requirements).

European/International Baccalaureate
Goldsmiths will consider students with a minimum EB result of 60% (6.0) or higher, or a minimum IB of 32 overall (as a guide, we frequently ask for 34); some subjects may ask for higher results than others.

GCSE Equivalents for PGCE Programmes

  • Baccalaureat de L’Enseignement du Second Degre
    • Maths 10, or above
    • English 16, or above
      (maximum score of 20)

Postgraduate degrees
MA/MSc/MMus/PGCE

Applicants who have successfully completed a Matrisse would be considered for a place on a postgraduate course. Applicants who have completed a Licence would not normally be considered for a postgraduate programme.

English language qualifications

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - 6.5*
International GCSE (IGCSE) English as a second language at Grade C
TOEFL - Test in English as a foreign language with a score of at least 580 (237 with the computerised scoring system) and 4.5 in the test of written English paper (TWE)*
Certificate of Proficiency in English Cambridge Level 5
Certificate in Advanced English Cambridge Level 4*

* does not meet English requirement for PGCE
