Awards 2010

The largest awards were made to support students. £15,000  in total has been made available to fund undergraduate and postgraduate students, and will support students experiencing severe financial hardship. This is a 50% increase on the amount awarded last year.

The College Library also benefitted and has received support for new signage and automatic doors for library users with disabilities.   Applications from the Students’ Union were also well supported – with the minibus, football society and other student societies receiving support of over £4,500.

The Panel was also able to fund a wide range of smaller grants to support initiatives ranging from helping students take new productions to the Edinburgh Festival, to help for new publications and exhibitions.   Whilst the College estate will benefit from help with purchasing new benches and cycle parking spaces.
