Annual Fund
Goldsmiths' 2009 Phone Campaign
Since our creation in 1891 we have been true to our original objectives and hugely expanded on them over the intervening 118 years. But we cannot achieve our potential with government funding alone.
The purpose of our Annual Fund is to raise funds that will be distributed to worthwhile projects each year. It is called an Annual Fund because each and every year we will raise gifts and then disburse them, so starting again at zero the next year.
The Fund will support projects and activities that improve the student experience through extra-curricular activities, improving our facilities and resources, and offering more scholarships.
Each gift that is made will sustain Goldsmiths as an institution, where students can enhance their lives and maximise their future possibilities. Areas that will receive support will include assisting students by providing bursaries, new equipment for student clubs or societies, or supporting unique and interesting projects or events.
A gift now works even harder because, for the next two years, the Government has introduced a 50% match funding scheme for Universities. So, please do not think that your gift would be too small as there really is no such thing.
- A regular donation of £5.00 per month over the next two years would raise (with Gift Aid and Matched Giving) £225.00.
- If ten people were to donate £10 per month for three years they would raise £6,000
- A regular gift of £11 per month would (with Gift Aid and Matched Giving) raise £1,000 over 5 years.
A gift to the Annual Fund is an investment in the future of Goldsmiths and it ensures that every student gets the most from their time here.
Every gift really does make a difference
Testimonials from those who have already given:
“I am aware that many students (or would-be students) will not have the support I can offer my granddaughter. I got everything free of charge – tuition and board and lodging; there was not even a parental contribution to be made, as I was 21. So I wanted to make a donation to help.”
John Richardson, BA (Teaching Certificate, 1954-1957)
“I have a fairly comfortable existence and I owe a great deal to Goldsmiths College, and the time I spent and the skills I acquired there. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of my College”
Mr Anthony C. Powell (Geography, 1986-1989)
