learn.gold

Learn.gold is the name for the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). A VLE is a web-based software system which supports the design, presentation and organisation of teaching and learning. It is home to any number of separate 'course areas' which usually correspond to courses or modules and tend to be arranged by departmental category.
Learn.gold can be used for making online resources available (such as reading material, graphics, timetables, weblinks, animations – in fact any type of file) or for formative assessment activities, online discussions, online essay submission, collaborative work and more.
Using learn.gold is very straightforward and does not require advanced technical skills. If you know how to use a computer and a word processing programme such as Word, you are well on your way to mastering learn.gold.
GLEU learning technologists are happy to show you the ropes - we offer workshops on how to use learn.gold every term and we recommend you book yourself onto one of those if you are new to the college. We are also available for departmental sessions as required, and can give one-to-one sessions for those who would like to get to grips with the more advanced features on learn.gold.
