Making contact / getting information
Your first port of call in case of queries should be the Virtual Graduate School, where you can find answers to most of your questions. Other queries or problems should be your own department - either your departmental research administrator or your own supervisor(s) and the staff at the Graduate School are also here to help you.
The Graduate School
The Graduate School is located in the Whitehead Building, the office is in WB117 (close to the Ian Gulland Lecture Theatre) and the Graduate Study Centre is in WB144.
The Graduate Study Centre is a dedicated computer area solely for use by postgraduate research students. There is a kitchen with full facilities including free tea and coffee.
College Research Training
All research students, regardless of department, are strongly encouraged to enrol for the training courses provided by the Graduate School. They have been designed in the context of best practice guidelines produced by Research Councils. Further information is available on the Virtual Graduate School.
Research Student Handbook
You will need to refer to this handbook throughout your research career. College procedures and codes of practice are all detailed here and it is updated annually.
