Goldsmiths is part of four prestigious national Doctoral Training Centres and partnerships funded by the UK Research Councils in recognition of our uniquely supportive and stimulating research environment. In a recent government assessment exercise, over 80% of our research environment was rated world-leading and internationally excellent.

CHASE Doctoral Training Centre
Goldsmiths is one of seven leading research institutions that are part of CHASE, the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts Southeast England. CHASE funds up to 75 studentships per year.

SeNSS Doctoral Training Partnership
Goldsmiths is part of the South-east Network for Social Science (SeNSS) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP), funded by the ESRC to train the next generation of social scientists. Fully funded ESRC studentships are available to research students via this DTP.

IGGI ESPRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence
11 PhD studentships per year are available through the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence (IGGI), for digital games researchers, designers, developers and entrepreneurs

Design Star Doctoral Training Centre
Goldsmiths is one of the five institutions that make up the Design Star Consortium Doctoral Training Centre.  The Consortium funds up to 12 PhD studentships per year.
