Over 1,300 students from Goldsmiths, University of London joined in a celebration of their achievements as they graduated from the university on 19 and 20 July 2017

In all some 2,700 family members, friends and supporters attended the ceremonies to share this landmark moment.

Patrick Loughrey, Warden of Goldsmiths, said: “It is with immense pride that we join together to celebrate the achievements of our students and all the hard work and dedication that has led up to this: their graduation day.

“Everyone here – our students, their families and supporters – should cherish this special moment and the culmination of their academic studies. I congratulate every single one of this year’s graduates and wish them great success in the years ahead.”

When they crossed the stage of the Great Hall the graduates joined an alumni community of 50,000 people worldwide. Our alumni are among the jewels in Goldsmiths’ crown: they include Oscar-winners, artists, musicians and leaders in the worlds of culture, business and politics.

They are all different and defined from one another but they are all connected by one thing: their shared experience of learning and growing at Goldsmiths.

Across the four ceremonies the students were joined by four distinguished figures from the worlds of sport, music, theatre, and art who were also honoured by Goldsmiths.

Football coach Hope Powell CBE, composer Gabriel Prokofiev, and writer Dennis Kelly were all made Honorary Fellows of the university.

Artist Dorothy Cross received an Honorary Degree of the University of London.
