Composting
A new temporary composting area has been set aside in the gardens behind St James Halls for our team of gardeners to use to help reduce our waste to landfill, as well as providing a useful by-product to put on our gardens.
The compost heap will also be able to take the raw food waste from the catering department.
In the long term, our aim to use all green / food waste in an anaerobic digester. This would produce a bio-fuel that would be used in a combined heat and power plant.
