Fairtrade

At Goldsmiths we are dedicated to ensuring a fairer deal for everyone, which is why we are proud to support Fairtrade.

We are currently aiming to become a Fairtrade status University, and we will update this page of the website when we have achieved this.

The College sells Fairtrade produce at Tasste and the main staff and student refectory. Along with chocolate covered raisins and peanuts, brownies and flapjacks, Divine (and it is!) chocolate is available in the Students’ Union shop in the Richard Hoggart Building.

All tea and coffee sold in Loafers is Fairtrade.

Fairtrade guarantees that a share of the profits occurring from retail sales of coffee tee, chocolate, sugar, banana, mangoes, honey and orange juice go to the small scale growers. This enables them to invest in their farms, their children´s education and live above subsistence level and prevents exploitation with multinationals taking all the profits.
