Furniture Re-use Scheme
To help reduce waste, promote recycling and reduce department costs we have now introduced a new system for ALL furniture items.
OLD
When any item of furniture (e.g. desk, book case, filing cabinet) becomes surplus to requirements, considered rubbish or just no longer loved - please help by following the below:
1) Rather than items being left outside to get wet, or thrown in skips, or in the compactor, or put in a "hidden" corner - please instead contact the porters for the item to be removed.
2) The porters will then remove the items to a new central storage area.
3) All items will be assessed for re-use, catalogued and photographed.
4) The items will then be listed for re-use by anyone within the college (for FREE) on this page.
NEW
As a consequence of this change:
1) When about to order new furniture for college use:
2) Please check to see if we already have something that fits the bill (or nearly fits the bill - we need to be a little creative sometimes to reduce costs and carbon).
3) Look below - there are photos, dimensions and a description (and if you really really want, a viewing can be arranged)
4) Click on the "I'd like that" button
5) Fill in the simple form with your details
6) As if by magic, your furniture item will arrive (thanks to the porters)
