This is a three year research project funded by The Panacea Society about the prophetic thought and legacies of Jacob Boehme  (1575–1624) and Jane Lead (1624–1704) 

It was launched in September 2010 with a highly successful conference held at Oxford University on “Teutonic Philosophy”: Jacob Boehme (1575–1624) in context, his life and the reception of his writings’. You can listen to the keynote addresses and the concluding debate here.

 

Project elements

Project I:       Companion volume on Jacob Boehme

The conference proceedings will be incorporated in a collection of essays.

Project II:      Jacob Boehme’s theology and the reception of his writings in the English-speaking world from c.1600 to c.1900

A two volume work by Ariel Hessayon.

Project III:   Visionary experience and mysticism in later Stuart Britain  

A single volume monograph by Sarah Apetrei.

Project IV:     “Blessed Virago”: the international mysticism of Jane Lead

A one-day conference to be held in September 2012 at Shoreditch, London.
