International students

The Department welcomes applications from overseas students to undertake study and research in all aspects of historical studies. The Department of History's emphasis on cultural history, and its committment  to interdisciplinarity, provide a unique opportunity for international students.

The Department believes its courses, exhibiting an exciting range of culturally-informed historical approaches, will contribute to more than just a stimulating intellectual education. They will challenge you to connect your studies to the larger experience of living in a foreign country, and in a culturally diverse city. In addition you will benefit from the added resources and opportunities provided by the College's position within the larger University of London system.

In recent years, students from European Union (EU) countries such as Germany, Ireland, France and Italy have studied in the Department on a full-time basis. In addition, students from further afield have pursued full degree programmes, or attended as visiting students for one or two terms. Such students have come from the USA, India, Korea and Japan.

As an international student you can study on any of the Department's full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. Alternatively, you can take selected courses offered by the Department as part of degree studies at your home university or college; see the College's Study Abroad Programme for further details.

Please contact Anastasia Stouraiti (a.stouraiti@gold.ac.uk) for further information regarding international students in the Department of History.
