Policies and Guidelines
The Human Resources Department continues to review its HR policies to update them in light of the Framework Agreement signed with the College’s recognised trade unions in July 2008 and to ensure that they are fit for purpose for a modern university.
The Probation and Performance and Development Review policies were ratified at Council on 1 December 2009.
The existing Capability and Performance policy will be reviewed during the Academic Year 2011/12.
The Disciplinary Policy and Grievance Policy have been discussed extensively with the trade unions with further consultation scheduled for September 2011. It has been agreed that these polices can be used as guidelines for all current discipline and grievance cases in conjunction with the College’s employment statute (Statute 16).
The draft sickness absence and redundancy policies have been withdrawn for further development within Human Resources.
