Evangelina Guerra Ponce De Leon
Born 1976 in Puebla, Mexico, Evangelina first worked as a graphic artist in 1994, and continued throughout the course of her architectural studies in Mexico. Upon obtaining her diploma in architecture in 2000, she relocated to Montreal to join Aedifica, as part of their design team. It was her natural curiosity, her facility for learning and her ability to adapt quickly across different disciplines that led to the key role she played in Aedifica’s environment design mandates for such important international clients as Lindt & Sprugli, Club Med, Air Transat and Aer Rianta International. At that time, she was an emerging interior architect with just under five years of experience in graphic design. Then, her involvement in the creation of a new prototype store for the Ports 1961 brand, opened a door in her professional career leading to interior design and project management assignments.
After seven years working with Aedifica and being designer responsible for major projects for the Aldo Group and Best Buy Canada, Evangelina decided to return to Mexico to explore different possibilities of the Design practice in Latinamerican markets while collaborating remotely in projects in Canada, Australia and Dubai.
She is currently completing a MA in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths College in London, for which she was awarded a scholarship from the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes in Mexico.
