Rodrigo Pinto

Rodrigo Pinto has been working as a journalist, producer, researcher, screenwriter, director and curator. He holds a Communication/Journalism degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1995). Since then, he has become the Culture Editor of the news website O Globo Online, co-authored the biography Barão Vermelho - Because we are like this ("Barão Vermelho - Porque a gente é assim", 2007), hosted a TV show and directed short videos for artists and cable channels. In 2007, Rodrigo co-founded the venue Cinematheque Música Contemporânea, which is devoted to promoting new Brazilian music in Rio de Janeiro. In 2009, he produced and directed his first movie, Lenine in Continuation ("Continuação"). The independently produced full-length feature has been screened at various film festivals in the Americas, Europe and Australasia. In 2009, Rodrigo was one of the six professionals chosen to get a scholarship from the British Council in Rio to study in Britain. At the moment, he is joining the MA in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths, researching for his next movie, and working to develop new artistic skills.
