Cataliina Beacroft

Catalina P Beacroft worked as a primary school teacher, a broadcaster and journalist; and in the marketing department of the Romanian National Theatre. She lived and studied in Bucharest until 2005, when she was awarded a scholarship by the Ratiu Family Foundation to study Arts Administration and Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Since graduation she has worked at the Romanian Cultural Institute where she project-managed over 100 events: film festivals, dance & theatre tours, concerts, heritage and visual art exhibitions. She was in charge of delivering the project, but also communication, marketing and handling protocol at the highest diplomatic level. In 2010, Catalina participated at the ‘cultural industries’ trade visit in Beijing while designing study tours for students and artists from the Far East.

Meanwhile Catalina became a mother which drew her into another way of living and thinking. The hectic day-by-day excitement of managing projects has given way to a more contemplative life-style, in which ethical and moral considerations are more important than just getting the show on the road. Catalina would like to live in a society where there is not such a sharp separation between work and family life.
