Pippa Taylor

Pippa began her career doing work experience at the Century Theatre in Keswick, Cumbria and was lucky enough to be a regular member of staff during the transition to the new venue, Theatre by the Lake.  From here she stayed in a rural setting by attending the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, gaining a BA (Hons) in Theatre Studies.  It was not until 2002 that she braved the ‘big smoke’ and was lured to London by the quality of the MA Arts Administration and Cultural Policy course at Goldsmiths.

Key for Pippa was the chance to have practical experience in the arts profession, utilising the placement opportunities that the MA provided.  She gained a breadth of experience during the year and went on to work for Greenwich Theatre, Talawa Theatre Company and Tara Arts in various administrative capacities.  From 2006-2008 she was Project Administrator for See a Voice, a project set up by STAGETEXT and VocalEyes, to help groups of venues develop and broaden their programming of assisted performances.

In 2008, Pippa joined MakeBelieve Arts as their Administrative Assistant and was promoted to Administrative Director in 2010.  MakeBelieve Arts is a theatre and education company, offering innovative, high quality theatre and education programmes to develop the creative potential of children aged 0 – 15.  Alongside the Artistic Director, Pippa is responsible for the day to day running of the company as well as its strategic development and growth.
