Dr. Caspar Addyman

Caspar is director of Goldsmiths’ InfantLab. He has undergraduate degrees in mathematics and psychology. From 2005 to 2015 he was a member of Birkbeck Babylab. He has investigated early concept learning, the foundations of language, time perception and sleep. His most recent research looks at the importance of laughter and positive emotion in early life. Caspar’s book The Laughing Baby will be published in 2020.

Natasa Ganea

PhD Student

Natașa is a PhD student in the Goldsmiths InfantLab. She has a degree in psychology. From 2010 to 2016 she was a member at the Birkbeck Babylab, where she worked on the British Autism Study of Infant Siblings and the Sighted Babies of Blind Parents Study. She has investigate how infants process other people’s gaze and how they communicate. Natașa’s PhD focuses on the effects of multi-sensory stimulation on infants’ learning about objects and people.

Zehra Karademir

PhD Student

 

Zehra graduated from Roehampton University in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. She subsequently completed an MSc in Child Development at UCL Institute of Education, with a dissertation focusing on the relationship of maternal speech to children’s executive function and perspective-taking abilities. Following that she obtained a research master’s in Research Methods in Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is currently a PhD student at Goldsmiths under the supervision of Dr. Caspar Addyman and Prof. Lauren Stewart, exploring how do infants recognize and respond emotion in music, and how musical family environment impact on their skills.
