María Andrea is a Graphic Designer with experience in communications and branding. She began developing projects for a wide range of public agencies and private companies since she was an undergraduate student. For more than five years, she has continued working as a designer and consultant for private and public institutions and renowned communications agencies in Colombia.
María Andrea worked as designer for the Communications Division of the National Museum of Colombia. There, she was responsible for its website and she created graphic material for the release of cultural activities and educational programs offered by the Museum. She also performed as identity and exhibition designer.
In the meantime, she worked as Communications Coordinator of Latin American Human Resources (LHR), where she was responsible of branding, internal and external communications strategies, design and advertising campaigns for the company and its clients (Saudi Aramco and Sabic, among others). Additionally, she has worked in projects involving Development Communication, for organizations such as OAS and ILO and was a teacher of Design, at university level, in Colombia.
María Andrea’s experience is not limited to graphic design. She knows how to structure advertising campaigns and communications strategies and she knows how to sell her work and expertise. Since 2004, she has run her design and communications consultancy studio all by herself, developing administration and managerial skills as she goes along.
Taking a year off to study an MA degree in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship Goldsmiths was part of her strategy to meet her goal of creating a company that merges creativity and communications with effective management practices. A design studio that can successfully compete with the big organizations in the communications industry in Colombia, and that can potentially set higher standards for the creative sector in her country.
